Woodchucks Finalize 2015 Season Coaching Staff

(Wausau, WI) The Wisconsin Woodchucks are excited to announce that Field Manager Jordan Bischel has finalized the coaching staff for the 2015 season with the additions of Matt Borgschulte and Heath Storey.

Matt is currently in his first year at Southeast Missouri State University where he coaches the outfielders as well as assists with the hitters and offensive game.  Matt started his coaching career at Drury University in Springfield, Missouri, where as a player he became the first All-America selection in the program’s history. The Daktronics All-America Second Team and Midwest Region Player of the Year honoree set new Drury single-season marks for homers (11), runs batted in (60) and total bases (125) while finishing in the Top 30 nationally in all three categories. “In just 2 years, Matt has quickly risen from an outstanding college player to an assistant coach at one of the fastest rising Division 1 programs in the Midwest,” said Manager Jordan Bischel, “Matt has an advanced offensive mind and will quickly relate to our players and assist in their development.”

Coach Storey is in his second year at Marshall University where he coaches the pitching staff.   Heath spent the 2014 summer with the Amsterdam Mohawks of the Perfect Game College Baseball League overseeing their pitching staff, which held a league leading ERA of 2.59 and won the regular season and postseason tournament with a 40-11 record. Manager Bischel describes Heath as “A young, but experienced coach with a passion for working with pitchers.  He has a proven track record of leading a top-tier pitching staff in the summer as well as experience being part of championship level baseball in a highly competitive summer league.”

Field Manager Jordan Bischel and the Woodchucks organization continue to build the roster for the 2015 season.

The WISCONSIN WOODCHUCKS Home Opener is Friday, May 29th in the newly renovated Athletic Park with Post Game Fireworks presented by Ministry Health Care. Single game ticket will go on sale in April for the 2015 season.
