Woodchucks Start Second Half at Lakeshore
Wausau, WIS- The Wisconsin Woodchucks start fresh today as they enter the second half of the Northwoods League Season. The Woodchucks finished the first half 12-23 which placed them at 8 out of 9 teams and they’re looking to improve on that in the second half of the season.
The team starts the second half with a three game road trip, playing a two game series in Mequon against the Lakeshore Chinooks, followed by a Friday night game in Madison before returning to Athletic Park on July Fourth to finish up the series with the Madison Mallards at home. There will be a spectacular Fireworks show after the game on July Fourth for the Woodchucks Red, White and Boom Independence Day Celebration!
The Woodchucks went 1-3 in the first half against the Lakeshore Chinooks, who finished the first half in fifth place. Matchups with the first half third place Madison Mallards proved to be more difficult with the Woodchucks going 0-4 against them.
Field Manager Jordan Bischel said, “It is important that each of us really commits to improving individually and strives to compete each game in the second half. If we can stay focused on each of these two goals the result will take care of itself. Our team is excited to wipe the slate clean and see what we can get accomplished the next five weeks.”
