Battle Creek, MI – The Battle Creek Bombers totaled a dozen hits against the Wisconsin Woodchucks to snap the Woodchucks’ three-game winning streak with a 7-3 victory at C.O. Brown Stadium Friday night.

Battle Creek held the first lead in the contest. They got two runs in the first inning behind three singles, one error and one walk. The Bombers scored one more in the third to go up 3-0.

The Woodchucks scored their first run in the fourth. Al Molina led off with a double and Ty Black followed with a single to right field to plate Molina. Black was stranded at third base, and the Chucks trailed 3-1 going to the bottom of the fourth.

Dylan Dwyer exited the game after just three innings on the mound. He allowed four hits and three runs, although only one was earned. Chance Simpson relieved him in the fourth and gave up one run in two frames, so the Chucks were down 4-1 after five innings.

The Bombers expanded their lead with two runs in the sixth and one run in the seventh. Wisconsin got one run in the seventh as well. Keenan Eaton singled, and Tanner Gragg scored him with a double to deep left field.

The Woodchucks added one more run in the ninth. Ramsey Romano singled and stole second base. Then, Eaton singled him home, but the Chucks’ rally was cut short as Jared Oliva struck out to end the contest.

The Woodchucks now play two games against the Kalamazoo Growlers at Homer Stryker Field before the Northwoods League All-Star break.
