Wausau, WIS- The Wisconsin Woodchucks are pleased to announce the promotion of Ryan Treu to the position of Team President & General Manager.  This promotion reflects the outstanding work Ryan has done over the past eleven years. 

Ryan’s hard work has seen the Woodchucks consistently improve the fan experience every season.  He has guided the Woodchucks through an ownership change and major ballpark renovations. 

“The Woodchucks are very fortunate to have a person with Ryan’s talent, creativity and drive leading the team,” stated team owner Mark Macdonald.  “On a daily basis, he oversees all aspects of the team including team recruitment, ticket and advertising sales, hiring, ballpark operations and community relations. Ryan has become the face of the Woodchucks and this promotion reflects his importance.”

After graduating from St. Cloud State University, Ryan began with the Woodchucks in January 2005 as an intern.  He was hired full time in May 2005 as the Director of Business Development.  In November 2006, Ryan was promoted to General Manager.  During Ryan’s tenure as General Manager of the Woodchucks, he has recruited and fielded multiple playoff teams.  Additionally, six of the players that he recruited and signed have gone on to play in Major League Baseball with even more playing in Affiliated Minor League Baseball. 

Ryan oversaw the renovation of Athletic Park creating one of the most interesting and attractive baseball facilities in Wisconsin. 

The Woodchucks are excited for the future and look forward to continued success and growth with Ryan as Team President.
