Wausau, WIS- The Wisconsin Woodchucks have announced the addition of three more players for the 2016 season. University of Oklahoma Freshmen Domenic DeRenzo, a right-handed catcher, Steele Walker, a left-handed outfielder and Cade Harris, a right-handed infielder will all be joining the team in 2016.
C – Domenic DeRenzo, 6’0”, 183 Ibs (R/R) Freshman, University of Oklahoma
DeRenzo was a two-year letter winner at Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, PA. He was announced Pittsburgh Player of the year as a senior hitting .450 and helped lead his team to the WPIAL Class AAAA championship. DeRenzo was drafted in the 40th round of the 2015 MLB draft by the Chicago Cubs.
OF – Steele Walker, 5’11”, 190 Ibs (L/L) Freshman, University of Oklahoma
Walker is from Prosper, Texas where he was a three year letter winner at Prosper High School. He played baseball for the Dallas Mustangs under Coach Sam Carpenter from 2012-2015.
Walker hit .481 with a .596 on-base percentage in his senior year. He was named All-Area selection in 2014 as a junior and District MVP in 2014 & 2015. In 2015 he was announced Dallas Morning News Player of the Year. He received the Academic All-State selection as a junior and senior and continued to help his team to district championship as a junior and state title as a senior.
IF – Cade Harris, 6’2”, 185 Ibs (L/R) Freshman, University of Oklahoma
Harris was a four-year letter winner from Centerville High School in Leona, TX. Harris earned three-time First Team All-District honors and was named First Team All-Brazos valley selection. In 2015 Harris was awarded Class 2A All-State Honorable mention selection as a senior and helped his team to three district championships.
