Woodchucks Sign Teammates from Bryant University

Wausau, WIS –The Wisconsin Woodchucks are proud to announce the addition of two more players that will be joining the team for the 2016 season.  Junior, Oliver Powers is a right handed pitcher and freshman, Nick Angelini is an outfielder who both attend Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island.

 

PowersRHP –  Oliver Powers, 6'4", 210 IBS, (R/R) Junior, Bryant University

Oliver Powers is originally from Newtown, CT and attended Salisbury School, an all-boys private college-preparatory boarding school, in Connecticut.  Previously attending Radford University during his first two years of college, Powers had to sit out for the 2014-2015 season due to NCAA transfer regulations.  He participated in 21 games during his two seasons with the Highlanders at Radford University.  Powers made 16 appearances, going 1-0 with a 3.55 ERA.  In his freshman year, he forced 7 strikeouts in 12.2 innings.  He also earned the title twice for First Team All-Western New England Prep Baseball League. 

 

 

 

AngeliniOF –  Nick Angelini, 5'10", 170 IBS, (R/R) Freshman, Bryant University

Nick Angelini is from Bedford, NH where he attended Bedford High School.  He was the first player in Bedford school history to make the varsity team as a freshman.  He led the team with a .396 BA, on-base percentage of .475, and an OPS of 1.020. Angelini was named the New Hampshire Division I Player of the Year as a senior and currently holds school records in stolen bases, hits, runs scored and doubles at Bedford High.  He was named NEC Rookie of the Week.
