Walker homers in return

Wausau, WI – The Wisconsin Woodchucks (28-34, 15-12 Second Half) dropped the first of a two-game set to the Lakeshore Chinooks (29-34, 14-13 Second Half), 16-6, Thursday at Athletic Park in Wausau, Wisconsin.

Steele Walker (Oklahoma) homered in his return to the lineup, one of two hits for him on the night. His Northwoods League-leading batting average is still over .400, and he's now accumulated enough plate appearances to qualify for the NWL batting title at the end of the season.

Steve Passatempo (UMass Lowell) added a three-run homer in the first inning, his team-leading 10th of the year. The three RBI boosted him to 53 for the season, second in the NWL.

Jake McMahon (St. Norbert) took the loss for the 'Chucks.

The 'Chucks are back at Athletic Park tomorrow (Friday, August 5th) to play the second of this two-game set against Lakeshore and of the six-game homestand, which runs through August 7th. There will be post-game fireworks presented by Cellcom. Order your tickets today by calling 715.845.5055 or going online to woodchucks.com
