Wausau, WIS – Viriginia Tech infielder Jake Rosen and Abilene Christian University right-handed pitcher Drew Hanson will play for the Wisconsin Woodchucks this summer.  

 

IF – Jake Rosen | 5'10" | R/R | Freshman | Virginia Tech

Rosen comes to the Woodchucks after a strong start in his first season with the Virginia Tech Hokies with a .333 batting average.  Rosen batted .325 in 112 plate appearances his senior year at St. John’s High School with a .500 on-base percentage. He ended his high school career with a .988 fielding percentage.  Rosen was also named to the 2016 ESPN Boston All-State team as a shortstop. Rosen is originally from Northborough, Mass.

 

RHP – Drew Hanson | 6'2" | R/R | Junior | Abilene Christian University

Hanson is off to a solid start in 2017. He has a 4.30 ERA with 14 strikeouts in 23 IP. He won his first game with the Abilene Christian Wildcats his freshman year when he pitched seven shutout innings against eventual Southland Conference Tournament Champion Houston Baptist. Hanson was a two year letter-winner in high school and was named to the second all-District 5-5A as a senior. Hanson is originally from Coppell, Texas.
