The Woodchucks returned home to get their second win of the season. The pitching was sharp all night long as the Chucks allowed just one run against the hot hitting Kenosha Kingfish.

Woodchucks starter Brent Headrick was outstanding going six strong innings with ten strikeouts allowing just one run. The Chucks bullpen combination of Joey Hennessey, Alex Stodola, and Lenny Gwizdala shut the door down, allowing no runs and sealing the 3-1 victory.

Top Performers 

Two new additions to the Woodchucks lineup from the University of Miami fueled the offense tonight. Chucks catcher Isaac Quinones made his debut a good one with an RBI single in the bottom of the 1stinning.  Woodchucks first basemen Alex Toral came up huge with his first hit of the season with a two out go ahead RBI single.

Chucks designated hitter Dylan Criquet-Danielson added some huge insurance as he had a big triple in the bottom of the 8thinning and eventually came home to score on a passed ball.

Woodchucks starter Brent Headrick had quite the debut on the mound with six innings of one run baseball with an impressive 10 punch outs on the night.

Next Up 

The Chucks will be back at home at Athletic Park on Saturday, June 3rdas they host the Kenosha Kingfish once again. First pitch is scheduled for 3:05 PM. It is Woody’s Reading Club Redemption night presented by Culvers and Sun Printing and the Chucks will sport their throwback jerseys.
