Wausau, WIS – The Woodchucks came into tonight’s game at Warner Park in Madison as they looked to cool down the first place Madison Mallards. It was a pitcher’s duel throughout the early innings but the Chucks bats could not get going off Mallards starter Ryan Kutt and the team fell 4-0.

 

The Mallards led 2-0 after four innings a run in the 2ndinning and a run in the 4thinning.

 

In the middle innings, The Chucks could not get things going with the bats and the Mallards added three runs to hang on for the 5-0 win.

 

Chucks starter Brent Headrick kept the game within reach going 5 2/3’s innings allowing three runs and striking out five.

 

 

 

Top Performers

 

Woodchucks designated hitter Javier Valdes was the only offensive production going 1-2 with a walk and reaching base twice.

 

Chucks Starter Brent Headrick had a solid outing going 5 2/3’s innings allowing three runs and striking out five.
