The Woodchucks came into the 7/21 game in Green Bay to open up a two game series with the Bullfrogs and looking to bounce back after a tough loss at Athletic Park. The game was started last night but got got pushed into today due to inclement weather. The offense came out right from the gates for the Chucks and they held on for the 4-3 win.

The Woodchucks got things going with the bats quickly as catcher Isaac Quinones delivered an RBI single in the top of the 2nd inning to give the Chucks a 1-0 lead after two.

The Chucks added two more runs in the top of the 5th inning with Jaren Shelby coming home to score on a wild pitch

Chucks starter Zach De La Garza had a great night on the mound going four innings not allowing a run and only giving up two hits.

The Bullfrogs answered in the bottom of the 5th inning with a run to make it 3-1 after five and then added two in the bottom of the 6th to tie the game at 3-3.

The Woodchucks got a big run coming home on wild pitch in the top of the 8th inning to take a 4-3 lead after eight.

Chucks reliever Trey Horton pitched a scoreless 8th inning and Chucks All Star closer Lenny Gwizdala shut the door down once again in the 9th inning for his 10th save of the season to give the Chucks the 4-3 win.

 

 

Top Performers

Chucks outfielder Zach DeLoach had a great day at the plate going 2-2 and reaching base six times.

Chucks reliever Trey Horton pitched a scoreless 8th inning and Chucks All Star closer Lenny Gwizdala shut the door down once again in the 9th inning for his 10th save of the season to give the Chucks the 4-3 win.
