Woodchucks Lose Third Game to Rafters

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. — It looked like things were going Wausau’s way Saturday night at Witter Field, until they weren’t.

Holding a 2-1 lead after putting up two runs in the seventh to take the lead, the Woodchucks (8-5) needed three more outs to win heading into the bottom of the ninth. With no outs, two back to back singles were allowed followed by a walk to load the bases.

Two runs would score for Wisconsin Rapids (8-5) shortly after and they would win the ballgame in walk-off fashion 3-2.

Key Moments:

Starting pitcher Isaac Crabb (Louisiana Tech) had himself a very nice outing, going six full striking out seven, while only allowing four hits and one run.

The two Wausau runs in the seventh were scored off an RBI sacrifice fly by Dalton Pearson (Georgia State) and an RBI single by Jesse Donohoe (Georgia State).

Up Next:

Wausau will be right back at Witter Field Sunday, June 11, for a 4:05 p.m. first pitch with Wisconsin Rapids.
