Four Woodchuck Employees Awarded Macdonald Foundation Work Ethic Scholarships
Wausau, WIS- The Wisconsin Woodchucks send congratulations to four current employees Cole Graff, Madeline Seidl, Haley Schalow, and Genna Hoffman who were among the ten local college students to be awarded $1,000 Work Ethic Scholarships by the Macdonald Foundation this year. These four students have distinguished themselves by working their way through school while maintaining very high academic and citizenship standards.
Cole Graff. Cole has worked for the Woodchucks since 2018. He has worked almost all that time in the
Double Play concession stand where he is a griller. He is attending UW-Stevens Point in Stevens Point
where his seeking a degree in Accounting with a Minor in Spanish. He expects to graduate in May of
2024. Cole enjoys the fast pace of the work. He also finds it a fun place to work, and he has made many
new friends through his co-workers.
Madelyn Seidl. Madelyn has worked for the Woodchucks since 2018. She started as a helper in the
Pepsi Tailgate Pavilion. She moved up to the Aspirus Terrace in 2019 and started working as an Expo in
Double Play during the 2020 season. This season Madelyn has started waitressing on the 4-Top Tables
and in the Luxury Suites. Madelyn will be attending UW-Madison this fall where she will study Animal
Sciences with the intention of becoming a veterinarian. Madelyn’s favorite thing about working for the
Woodchucks is the friends she has made with her co-workers. She also enjoys the interaction with the
fans as a waitress.
Hayley Schalow. Hayley has worked for the Woodchucks since 2017. She started working in the Home
Plate concession stand, and then moved to Double Play in 2018 where she has been a cashier at the
front of the stand. In 2021 and 2022 she has filled in as a waitress in the 4-Top area. Hayley attended
UW-Milwaukee last year but will be transferring to UW-Madison where she will be majoring in
Psychology. Hayley really enjoys the fans especially Otto’s family. She also considers many of her co-
workers lifelong friends.
Genna Hoffman. Genna started working for the Woodchucks in 2018 as an attendant for the bounce
house. She moved to the Aspirus Terrace outing area in 2018 where she serves the fans. She also fills in
on the camera crew for the games, which fits nicely with her intended course of study in film. Genna
will be attending UW-Milwaukee in the fall. Genna enjoys interacting with the fans and co-workers.
“It has been a pleasure to watch these four kids grow into young adults”; said Mark Macdonald owner of
the Woodchucks. “Over the five plus years that these young adults have worked for the Woodchucks I
have watched them gain confidence, improve their communication skills and take on additional
responsibilities.” “They all work hard every night to make sure the fans have the best experience
possible, and they will have very productive and successful careers.”
