'Chucks leave bases loaded, lose by one
Wausau, WIS – The Wisconsin Woodchucks (10-9) trailed the Duluth Huskies (10-11), 8-3, after seven innings at Wade Stadium in Duluth, Minnesota. They scored four in the top of the eighth inning and — after giving a run back in the home half — one in the ninth, but they left the bases loaded and lost, 9-8
Steve Passatempo (UMass Lowell) highlighted the night by hitting for the cycle. After striking out in his first at-bat, he homered, tripled, doubled and singled (in that order) in his last four at-bats. He also scored four runs and drove in another.
Jonathan Foster (Auburn) continued his hot hitting over the last week with a four-hit night of his own.
Eli Kraus (Kent State) took the loss for the 'Chucks.
The 'Chucks are back at it tomorrow night in Duluth. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. They will finish their six-game road trip with two in Madison on Thursday and Friday.
