Woodchucks' bats come to life in series finale

 

Wausau, WIS – The Wisconsin Woodchucks (18-25, 5-3 Second Half) took the second of a two-game set over the Battle Creek Bombers (22-22, 4-4 Second Half), 11-4, at Athletic Park in Wausau, Wisconsin.

Steele Walker (Oklahoma) came in leading the Northwoods League with a .373 batting average, and he only raised that mark tonight with a 4-for-5 performance. Walker homered — his fourth of the season and third in the last seven games — and drove three while scoring two. He's scored 31 runs in 29 games this season.

Walker's batting average is now up to .391, still leading the league.

Scott Parker (San Francisco) threw six innings and surrendered only one run en route to his team-leading fifth victory of the season.

Chad Fleischman (Lamar) knocked out two hits of his own, driving in two and scoring one.
