Mangrum, Oliva (twice) homer

 

Wausau, WI – The Wisconsin Woodchucks (28-33, 15-11 Second Half) dropped the second of a two-game set to the Kalamazoo Growlers (31-31, 11-15 Second Half), 16-11, Wednesday at Athletic Park in Wausau, Wisconsin.

Stevie Mangrum (Virginia Tech) crushed a two-run homer to left in the second inning, one of his three hits and three runs on the night.

Jared Oliva (Arizona) homered twice as well, his in the third and eighth innings and both two-run shots.

George Janca (Texas A&M) scored two runs. Connor Heady (Kentucky) had a single and a walk with two RBI. Chad Fleischman (Lamar) notched an RBI double in the fourth.

For the third straight game, every Woodchuck in the starting lineup has reached base by the sixth inning at the latest. Wednesday night, they had all been aboard by the third.

Alex Lewandowski (Northwood) took the loss.
