'Chucks bats fall silent in 5-1 defeat

Wausau, WI – The Wisconsin Woodchucks (30-38, 17-16 Second Half) dropped the first of their two-game series to the Kenosha Kingfish (24-35, 8-25 Second Half), 5-1, Thursday at Athletic Park in Wausau, Wisconsin.

Stevie Mangrum (Virginia Tech) singled, walked and drove in a run on a sacrifice fly. George Janca (Texas A&M) also singled and walked.

Steele Walker (Oklahoma) extended his league-leading on-base streak to 42 games. He will finish with the longest hitting and on-base streaks in the Northwoods League this season.
