Wausau, WIS- The Wisconsin Woodchucks hit five home runs in three consecutive innings en route to a 9-2 win over the La Crosse Loggers at Athletic Park Sunday.

Ryan Howard hit a solo home run in the second. Then in the third, Max Ponzurick and Howard hit back-to-back jacks, which put the Woodchucks ahead 4-0.

Wisconsin got another couple of home runs in the fourth inning when LJ Hatch and Ponzurick each went yard for a pair of 2-RBI dingers.

The Woodchucks led 8-0 going into the seventh when La Crosse got a run off a home run of their own from Jacob Boston. Wisconsin responded with one run in the bottom of the frame off a walk from Taylor and singles from Ponzurick and Howard.

Head coach Jordan Bischel used five different arms in the seven-run victory. The Woodchucks on the mound fanned nine and allowed just one earned run and seven hits in the ballgame.

With the win, Wisconsin moves to 2-2 on the season. They face the Loggers again tomorrow, this time in La Crosse.
