Woodchucks Sign Teammates from California State University, Fullerton

Wausau, WIS –The Wisconsin Woodchucks are pleased to announce two more additions to the team for the 2016 season. Ruben Cardenas, outfielder, and Jake Pavletich, infielder, are both freshman at California State University, Fullerton.

OF-Ruben Cardenas, 6’2”, 190 Ibs, (R/R) Freshman, California State University, Fullerton

Cardenas is originally from Saugus, CA and attended Bishop Alemany High School in Mission Hills, CA. He was a four year letter-winner under Coach Randy Thompson while also competing in the Mission League. Cardenas was drafted in the 37th round by the Miami Marlins in the 2015 MLB Draft. During the summer of 2015, he played for the Utah Marshalls in Draper Utah under Coach Sam Swenson. Cardenas has a BA of .190, OBP of .239 and SLG of .238.

INF-Jake Pavletich, 6'1", 190 Ibs, (R/R) Freshman, California State University, Fullerton

Pavletich's hometown is Bakersfield, CA and attended Garces Memorial High School. He played on the varsity baseball team for three consecutive years under Coach Guy Dees.  Pavletich previously played for the Cowlitz Black Bears of the West Coast League in the summer of 2015. In his senior year, at Garces Memorial High School he was named First Team All-Valley and Team MVP. In 2015, he had a BA of .252, OBP of .282, SLG of .317, 14 RBIs, and 2 home runs.
