Rafters Announce 2017 Entertainment Acts
ZOOperstars! and Rally Entertainment Return Along with a Host of First-Time Acts
Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.-The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters are thrilled to announce the entertainment acts for the 2017 season in advance of single game tickets going on sale this Friday, April 21st at 9 AM. A few new entertainers will join a couple familiar ones to make fans smile all summer long.
Returning for an appearance on the second game of the season, the inflatable, zany, ZOOperstars! will perform on Wednesday, May 31st courtesy of Paper City Savings. The ZOOperstars! act has ranked at the top of sports promotions, featuring hilarious inflatable characters with clever names such as Harry Canary, Tommy Laswordfish, Clammy Sosa, Shark McGwire, and many more! The performance combines synchronized dance routines, acrobatics, tricks and comedy for performances that connect with fans of all ages.
Joining the Zooperstars! at Witter field this year will be a host of other acts to provide between inning entertainment. On Aspirus Riverview Hospital and Clinics Night on June 12th, the Flying Houndz Frizbee Trick Dog Show invites you to “Come Catch the Fun” with their unique, one of a kind, family themed entertainment experience bringing audiences thrilling fun that’s out of this world! Jeff Wright and his family of canine superstars offer crowds exciting, explosive, action-packed shows that have been featured on Good Morning America and the Today Show. The Flying Houndz Frizbee Trick Dog Show promotes the awareness of responsible pet ownership, exercise, good nutrition, positive training and the importance of rescuing through pet adoption as most of Jeff’s fabulous furry stars he calls his children have been adopted from a shelter. Not sure who rescued who, as the Flying Houndz canines love their human pet, Jeff, as much as he loves them! A true family of entertainers unlike any other in the canine entertainment industry!
Thursday, July 13th will feature an appearance by baseball juggling Josh Horton on Solarus Baseball Card Night. With nine gold medals in the world championships of juggling, Horton is one of the best jugglers in the world. He will combine his talents to juggle baseballs, bats, helmets, and whatever else he can find at the ballpark!
It’s Rally time again on Saturday, July 29th presented by Heartland Farms. Players flying out of the dugout, dancing grounds crews, and pranks pulled on fans, are just a few of Rally’s tricks fans can expect.
On Saturday, August 5th Nasonville Dairy presents a special appearance by the Sweet Right Brothers. The Sweet Right Brothers are big blue mascot characters that have a few between-inning antics up their sleeves that will entertain fans of all ages.
The defending Northwoods League Champion Rafters host their season opener on Tuesday, May 30th at 7:05pm when they take on the Kenosha Kingfish. Rafters single game tickets go on sale on Friday, April 21st at 9:00am. Tickets will be available by visiting Raftersbaseball.com or calling the Rafters ticket office at 715-424-5400.
The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. The 23-year-old summer collegiate league is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 20 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 160 former Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including two-time Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (WAS), two-time World Series Champion Ben Zobrist (CHC) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (BOS), Jordan Zimmermann (DET), Curtis Granderson (NYM) and Lucas Duda (NYM).
