Three teams, four games, to watch tonight. Madison, Wisconsin, and La Crosse all have a shot to clinch a playoff spot tonight. According to the weather RADAR, rain won’t be a factor anywhere in the Northwoods League tonight.

North Division

Mankato MoonDogs (1 at Thunder Bay) — Mankato has clinched the North Division 1st Half Championship. This is Mankato’s first regular season division title in ten years as a franchise (Mankato Mashers 1999-2001, Mankato MoonDogs 2002-present).

South Division

Madison Mallards (2 at Battle Creek) — Madison is in a virtual first place tie with Wisconsin but currently holds a lead in winning percentage (.645 to .636) which is ultimate determining factor for Northwoods League standings. Madison plays a doubleheader tonight at Battle Creek. If the Mallards win both games they will clinch the South Division title. If they lose one game they will need both Wisconsin and La Crosse to lose tonight.

Wisconsin Woodchucks (1 at Waterloo) — Wisconsin is in a first place tie with Madison but the Mallards have the edge in winning percentage and the advantage of playing an extra game. If Wisconsin beats Waterloo tonight and gets one loss from Madison, Wisconsin will clinch the South title.

La Crosse Loggers (1 at Brainerd) — La Crosse is a 1/2 game behind Madison and Wisconsin entering play tonight. La Crosse needs to win its game at Brainerd and have Wisconsin lose and Madison lose at least one game. If this happens, La Crosse would move ahead of Wisconsin in the standings and be at worst tied with Madison in the standings. La Crosse holds a two games to one head-to-head tiebreaker against Madison and would clinch the South Division title.
