The California Golden Bears have sent the most players to the Northwoods Collegiate Baseball League this summer of any school. The Golden Bears have sent twelve players to play in sixteen team league. The twelve players have been sent to six various NWL teams across Minnesota and Wisconsin. Florida Gulf Coast has the second most players in the NWL at eleven while Santa Clara University has the third most at eight.

Marcus Semien (Alexandria) and Matt Flemer (La Crosse) have had a very successful start to the 2010 NWL season. Semien, a short-stop, is currently hitting .330 in 30 games played. He has been a mainstay in the Beetles line-up and leads the team in steals (12). Flemer is 5-0 on the season while only starting in five contests. Flemer, a righty, has a 1.49 ERA and leads the Loggers in wins (5) and innings pitched (36.1).

Another Golden Bear that is having a great first half in 2010 is Mitch Delfino (Willmar). The infielder is hitting .319 in 72 at-bats on the year. Delfino is second on the Stingers in batting average and has the third highest on-base percentage for Willmar.

Florida Gulf Coast, a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference, has sent the second most players to the NWL at eleven. The Alexandria Beetles have a pair of Florida Gulf Coast players who are having a successful first half of the NWL season. Tim Roberson and Mikel Alvarez have both had a great first half. Roberson, a catcher, is hitting .338 which is second on the Beetles. Mikel Alvarez is leading the team in walks (25) and second on the team in on-base percentage at .437.

Santa Clara University sent eight players to the NWL this summer. The Broncos, a member of the West Coast Conference, have a pair of hitters who near the top of the batting leaders in the NWL. Lucas Herbst (Eau Claire) is currently hitting .328 which is second on the team behind NWL league leader Drew Heithoff (Augustan). Ryan Rieger (Waterloo) leads the Waterloo Bucks in hitting at a .360 clip. He also has the highest on-base percentage (.515), walks (23), and home runs (5).
