The Alexandria Beetles’ Nate Smith was outstanding Thursday night against the Brainerd Lake Area Lunkers. The Furman pitcher threw 7.0 innings and only allowed one hit on the night. The 6’2” righty was matched in a pitcher’s duel by Jason Forjet who also threw extremely well. Forjet also threw 7.0 innings, but allowed three hits on the night and took a no-decision. Smith now has a 3-3 record in 2011 with a 2.19 earned run average.
