Mequon, WI (August 14th, 2013)–The Madison Mallards advanced to the Summer Collegiate World Series with a win over the Lakeshore Chinooks on Wednesday night in Mequon. They got a huge home run from Alex Bacon (North Florida) in the top of the ninth to lift them to the win.

Bacon came in as a substitute and launched a three-run home run deep into the night to give the Mallards a 5-3 lead after they entered the inning trailing by a run. The home run propelled them into the Summer Collegiate World Series.

Madison will travel to Duluth for game one on Thursday at 6:35.
