Steam Adds Utility Player to Roster

Ashley Bert Joins for 2025

LA CROSSE, WI – With May right around the corner, the Steam is excited to announce utility player, Ashley Bert, to the 2025 roster. 

Bert, a Florida Southwestern State freshman, was named Offensive Player of the Year twice while attending Union Grove High School. Additionally, she was a .460 career hitter. The Racine, WI native has recorded zero fielding errors in her first season with the Buccaneers, and has played in 11 games.

Leveraging the 31-year success of the Northwoods League, the first for-profit Summer Collegiate Baseball League, Northwoods League Softball (NWLS) will be the first for-profit Women’s Summer Collegiate Softball League beginning play in the Upper Midwest in the summer of 2024.  The purpose of the League will be to develop players for their college, Olympic and future professional play.  Teams will be promoted similar to minor league baseball teams, playing games in front of fans in a fun, friendly, family-oriented environment.
