
Steam Adds Teammate Duo to Roster
Kylie Stark and Sam VandeVelde Join for 2025
LA CROSSE, WI – With the season less than two weeks away, the Steam is very excited to announce the addition of Bryant and Stratton College teammates, Kylie Stark and Sam VandeVelde!
Stark, a BSC freshman pitcher, has played in 24 games in her first year with the Bobcats. The Orfordville, WI native has started in 21 games this season and recorded 42 strikeouts. While at Parkview High School, Stark earned Rookie of the Year (2021), Pitcher of the Year (2022-2024), 2nd Team All-Conference (2023), and Coach’s Attitude Award (2023-2024).
VandeVelde, a fellow BSC freshman utility player, has played in 31 games and had 16 at-bat appearances in her first season with BSC. While at Seneca High School, VandeVelde earned All Conference Player of the year (2022-2023), 1st Team All Conference (2021-2023), 2nd Team All State (2022-2023), and All Academic Award (2021-2024).

Leveraging the 31-year success of the Northwoods League, the first for-profit Summer Collegiate Baseball League, Northwoods League Softball (NWLS) will be the first for-profit Women’s Summer Collegiate Softball League beginning play in the Upper Midwest in the summer of 2024. The purpose of the League will be to develop players for their college, Olympic and future professional play. Teams will be promoted similar to minor league baseball teams, playing games in front of fans in a fun, friendly, family-oriented environment.
