The Chinooks roster continues to grow this week with the announcing of six players, some with ties to southeastern Wisconsin.
On Tuesday, the Chinooks announced the signing of Ryan Solberg. Ryan is a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and will be joining fellow Panther Eric King on Lakeshore’s 2013 roster. Last season with UWM, he hit for an average above .300. Solberg will be splitting time between 1st base and the outfield. He is a native of Waukesha.
The Warhawks will be sending three of their top players to the Chinooks this summer. Whitewater is currently managed by former Chinooks manager, John Vodenlich, who highly recommended all three players to Lakeshore. Jared Fon is a redshirt junior and will split time between 1st and 3rd base. Fon can also be trouble for the opposing team, as he is switch hitter. Jared is from Germantown. Marty Herum is a redshirt sophomore who can play multiple infield positions for the Chinooks this summer. Marty is a native of River Falls, WI. Also playing the infield this summer will be Mikole Pierce. He is currently a sophomore and from De Pere.
Finally, on Thursday the Chinooks announced the signing of two players from Concordia University–Concordia University of Irvine that is. Dillon Bryant is currently a junior and plays the outfield. He is from Orange County, California. Chris Rubio is a junior right-handed pitcher and is a native from Oak Hills, California.
The Chinooks kick off their season at home on May 30th at 6:35pm. Fans will get their first glimpse at the Chinooks 2013 promotional schedule when it is release early next week.
