The Lakeshore Chinooks put all doubts to rest with a record setting 21 hit outburst in a 17-3 blowout win over the Madison Mallards to clinch their first playoff berth in team history.

Lakeshore scored at least two runs in seven of the nine innings with each starter scoring at least one run.   Mike Papi (University of Virginia), Chris Manning (Valparaiso University) and Travis Enger (St. Cloud State) each picked up four hits to pace the offense.

With a homerun in the fourth inning, Manning came within a triple of the cycle with two RBI.

Sawyer Polen (Kent State University) picked up a season high five RBI on two hits and a sacrifice fly.   He also became the first person in franchise history to start all 70 games in a season.

Making his first start since the All-star break, Tyler Thicke (UWM) did not allow a hit until the fourth inning, a two-run home run by Drew Weeks.

Tyler Wolfe (Des Moines Area CC) came on and shut things down in the final four innings, allowing one run on two hits.

The two teams will be back at it again Monday at Kapco Park in game one of the Southern Division championship series at 6:35.
