To the ‘Nook Nation,

For the past six years I’ve had the privilege of serving as manager/coach of the best organization in the Northwood’s League – the Lakeshore Chinooks. It is time for me to step aside and allow a new manager to build on the foundation we have established. The Chinooks are a first class organization, and are positioned to have continued success in the NWL and in our community.

I would like to thank Jim Kacmarcik and the entire ownership group for the opportunity to be a part of this organization. I continue to be impressed by their desire to make Kapco Park a true family environment and provide an atmosphere for college baseball players to develop and grow.

I am grateful to have the experience of working with outstanding baseball men, Dean Rennicke and Jon Cain, as we built the Chinooks rosters together. Their support means the world to me. They have been my sounding board and have been so helpful through all of the 360 plus games. Their impact can be felt all over the organization.

Thank you to the front office staff and the behind-the-scenes workers whose tireless work makes the organization run smoothly. This includes the interns, Personalized Coaches (John Jeske), athletic trainers, radio Matt (best play by play announcer in the NWL), and all the employees– they all do a fantastic job and are unbelievable in their energy, dedication and enthusiasm. They all make game day such a great experience for the team and the fans.

The best part of coaching baseball is working with the players, and this is what I truly love. It has been a privilege to coach and manage over 300 plus young men, some of the very best college baseball players in the country. I believe we gave them an outstanding baseball experience that will serve them in life and in baseball.

I am thankful for all of the assistant coaches that have been part of the Chinooks– they all had a great learning experiences and many have moved on to additional coaching positions. We were lucky to have them part of the organization and I will be forever grateful for their time with us.

Thank you to CUW for all they do and allowing me the opportunity to be a part of the Chinooks.

I’ve been lucky to coach in front of the best fans in the Northwood’s League. Thank you for coming out night after night and cheering, no matter the weather or the score! I am happy we brought you a championship trophy in 2014!

I have been blessed to have my son Isaac by my side as the Chinooks bat boy, and for that, I am grateful. My family and I have been able to share the Chinooks experience with many friends and family, which has been wonderful. To my wife Jessica and daughter Piper; you’ve been the best cheerleaders and supporters that I could ask for. Seeing you cheering us on in section 101 reminds me that the Chinooks are truly about family.

See you in the stands in ‘18. Go ‘Nooks and God Bless. –Coach Morgan
