Madison, WI – The Madison Night Mares (34-6) completed a four-game series sweep of the Mankato Habaneros (13-27) with a 12-1 victory on Thursday afternoon at Warner Park.

The Night Mares wasted no time taking control. Emma Kavanagh (University of Arizona) opened the scoring with an RBI double in the bottom of the first, and Luciana Moreno (University of Pittsburgh) followed later in the inning with a two-run single to extend Madison’s lead to 3-0.

Madison continued to pile on in the second. Hilary Blomberg (University of Wisconsin) delivered a two-run single to make it 5-0 before Kavanagh added an RBI single later in the inning. Kyra Smith (Colorado State University) capped the five-run frame with an RBI fielder’s choice, stretching the advantage to 7-0.

The Night Mares put the game out of reach in the fourth inning. Addie Blomberg (University of Wisconsin) drove home a run with an RBI single before scoring on a wild pitch to make it 9-0. Trinity Kennemer (Metropolitan State University of Denver) then punctuated the afternoon with a three-run home run, extending Madison’s lead to 12-0.

Brooke Mannon (Indiana University) earned the win after allowing just one run over five innings. Kylinn Stangle (University of Minnesota) was charged with the loss for Mankato.

The Night Mares will travel to Wausau on Friday to take on the Ignite, with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. Madison then returns to Warner Park on Saturday for its regular-season finale against the La Crosse Steam at 6:35 p.m.
