Construction on Corbett Field in Minot began in 1935 and was completed in 1937. Corbett Field was initially known as Minot Municipal Ballpark. The present name comes from a local Minot dentist Victor A. Corbett, who was the president of the park board at the time when improvements were being made to the field.
The first improvements to the stadium came in 1947 as the Minot Parks and Recreation Board added an awning over the grandstand as well as field lights for the facility. The most recent upgrade to the stadium is the turf field that was installed in November of 2017.
In 2018, Corbett Field was awarded the winner of the Best of the Ballparks: Summer Collegiate Edition fan vote from Ballpark Digest readers. Corbett Field defeated Homer Stryker Field, home to the Northwoods League’s Kalamazoo Growlers.
