The Minot Hot Tots got on the board first, but were not able to hold the lead, falling late in the game to the Willmar Stingers, 7-5.

It all started with a leadoff double in the second inning by Bryson Hoier, followed by an RBI double by Henry Allen to give the Hot Tots their first run. Trenton Lombardo continued the good play at the plate, driving in two more runs on a triple. Lombardo finished the game 3-for-4 and just a home run shy of the cycle.

Down 3-0, the Stingers put together a quick response. Jordan Kuhnau brought in two runs on a single, making the score 3-2 in favor of Minot.

Hot Tot starting pitcher Camden Dimidjian gave another valiant effort, earning SportClips MVP honors. He struck out four batters while allowing three runs. Dimidjian would go into the seventh inning before being relieved by Kevin Schoneboom. It was against the bullpen that Willmar struck up the comeback. Two inherited runners scored against Schoneboom in the seventh inning and another two in the eighth. All throughout the night, the Stingers pounded the baseball, finishing the game with 15 hits.

Minot scored one in the ninth inning, but it wasn’t enough. Willmar won game two by a 7-5 score. The First Command Play of the Game was found in the first inning, a double-play started by pitcher Camden Dimidjian. Kevin Schoneboom delivered the SRT Fastest Pitch clocking in a pitch of 90 mph. As a team, Minot drew three Buffalo Wild Wings Walks.

There are two games to go in the series with game three starting at 6:35 pm on Friday night. It marks the first of six R.E.D Friday the games the Tots will play this year.
