Woodchucks' bats fall silent in 8-3 loss
Wausau, WIS – The Wisconsin Woodchucks mustered only three runs (two earned) against the Kalamazoo Growlers and lost, 8-3, at Athletic Park in Wausau.
The Growlers (10-5) have now beaten the 'Chucks (7-7) all three times the two teams have played this season. The first two came at Homer Stryker Field in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Connor Heady (Kentucky) knocked a two-run homer over the left field fence — his second in as many games — and Jonathan Foster (Auburn) chipped in three hits, but the 'Chucks were largely quiet against Kalamazoo starter Kevin Marmon.
Marmon threw eight innings, giving up all three runs (two earned) and striking out eight.
Eli Kraus (Kent State) took the loss for the Woodchucks.
