Wausau, WIS- The Wisconsin Woodchucks are excited to announce the signing of two returning players from 2016 to the 2017 roster. Infielder Chad Fleischman and Outfielder Stevie Mangrum will be back in Wausau this summer for a second season with the Woodchucks.
INF – Chad Fleischman | 6' 3" | R/R | Junior | Lamar University
Fleischman is originally from St. Paul, MN and had an impressive 2016 with the Woodchucks. Fleischman batted .248 in 2016 for the ‘Chucks, hitting 4 home runs and 14 doubles with 28 RBIs. Prior to coming to the Woodchucks Fleischman played for Ranger College and Cretin-Derham High School.
OF – Stevie Mangrum | 6' 0" | R/R | Sophomore | Virginia Tech
Mangrum was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 2015 First Year Player Draft. While with the Woodchucks in 2016 Mangrum earned a .308 batting average with 7 home runs, 16 doubles and a remarkable 36 RBI. Mangrum started eight games as a freshman for Virginia Tech in 2016.
