Wausau, Wis. — The Northwoods League schedule for the 2018 season was released today. The Wisconsin Woodchucks will open their 25th season at Athletic Park against the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders on Tuesday, May 29 followed with two more home games on May 30 and 31.

The Woodchucks have a 72 game schedule with 36 home games, spread out evenly throughout the summer. The longest stretch of games at Athletic Park occur at the end of June from Thursday, June 21 through Sunday, June 24 and in mid-July from Tuesday, July 17 through Friday, July 20. A fun and exciting promotional schedule for fans of all ages is being planned and will be released in the spring.

The League, which plays two halves to determine playoff participants, will end the first half of play on July 3 with the second half beginning the following day. Beginning on August 13 the first and second half divisional champions will have home field advantage on the first day of the one-game elimination divisional playoffs. Their opponents will be determined by the two divisional teams remaining with the best overall records. The winners of those games will play against each other the following day in another one-game elimination division championship. With no off-day in between, the North and South Division Champions will then meet in a best-of-three series for the Summer Collegiate World Series from August 15-17.
