Wausau, WIS – The Wisconsin Woodchucks 2018 roster continues to grow with the additions of Youngstown State pitcher Greg Dunham and Virginia Tech infielder Michael Fernandez.
RHP – Greg Dunham | 6’0” | R/R | Sophomore | Youngstown State University
Dunham, a sophomore from Salem, OH, will join the ‘Chucks pitching rotation. The right-hander pitched 42 innings for the Youngstown State Penguins last season with 14 appearances out of the bullpen and 22 strikeouts. Dunham has seen the mound twice this 2018 season and recorded 9 innings pitched and a 1-1 record so far. In high school, Dunham earned first-team all-league honors. He was named a Mahoning County All-Star and team MVP as a senior and set his high school record for lowest career ERA and most wins in a career.
INF – Michael Fernandez | 5’10” | L/R | Freshman | Virginia Tech University
Fernandez, is playing in his first season with the Virginia Tech Hokies. Fernandez was a three year letterwinner in high school. He batted .337 with seven doubles, five home runs and 18 RBI as a senior. He helped his team to a number five ranking in the nation by MaxPreps, while earning the 9A-15 Player of the Year award. Fernandez was also named First Team All-County, 9A-15 All-District and a Senior All-Star Private Team member as third baseman. He is originally from Miami, FL.
