UIUC Slugger Jacob Schroeder Joins Woodchucks Lineup for 2023 Season
Wausau, WI – UIUC’s Jacob Schroeder joins the Woodchucks this summer for the 2023 season, bringing his impressive batting skills to the Midwest.

Jacob had a standout sophomore season at John A. Logan CC in 2022. He batted an impressive .387 with 16 doubles, two triples, and 13 home runs, earning him 39 RBI and 43 runs scored in 50 games played. Schroeder had a .515 on-base percentage and a .780 slugging percentage, resulting in an OPS of 1.295. Additionally, he drew 22 walks. Prior to his time at John A. Logan CC, Schroeder played in 15 games for Northern Illinois University in 2021. Before college, while at Homewood-Flossmoor High School, he was a two-time All-Southwest Suburban Conference selection, was a member of the Chicago White Sox ACE Team, and played in the Double-Duty Classic.
The Woodchucks start their 30th season of Northwoods League Baseball in Madison, WI on Monday, May 29th. The team returns home for the 2023 home opener at Athletic Park on Tuesday, May 30th.
