At the home game on Sunday, June 4th, Stratford Youth Baseball was honored as Wausau’s 2023 recipient of the annual “Share the Glove” grant. Starting in 2018, Share the Glove is a charitable initiative run by the Northwoods League Foundation, and has combined to give over $220,000 worth of equipment to youth organizations across the NWL. Each team selects one local organization that provides opportunities for kids ages 9-12 to play baseball or softball. The recipient is given a full set of equipment, including:
- Ten fielding gloves (8 RH, 2 LH)
- Eight batting helmets
- Six bats (27 in. – 30 in.)
- One set of catcher’s gear (helmet, chest protector, shin guards, mitt)
- One bucket of practice baseballs
After considering a variety of applications, Stratford was chosen by the Northwoods League Foundation as the lucky recipient for the Wausau area. Boxes of equipment have been delivered to help them continue to support kids through baseball. Congratulations again to Stratford Youth Baseball!
