Rochester, Minn. – The Northwoods League announced the 2024 Postseason All-Star Team and award winners on Saturday, August 10. Corey Thompson from Wausau was named the Manager of the Year and Kelton Caldwell from Wausau won the Coach of the Year Award. Carsen Plumadore (Georgia Southwestern) and Max Galvin (U of Miami) were both named Postseason All-Stars.

In his third season in Wausau as Field Manager, Corey Thompson of the Woodchucks is the 2024 Manager of the Year. The Woodchucks currently have the second-best overall record in the league at 49-19 and are the First Half Champions in the Great Lakes West Division. Corey is the all-time winningest Coach in franchise history, and has broken the single season win record twice in his time in Wausau.

Kelton Caldwell earned the award for 2024 Coach of the Year in the Northwoods League. He returned to the Woodchucks in 2024 after spending two summers with Wausau in 2021 and 2022. Caldwell was recently hired to the baseball staff at Keiser University. Prior to his coaching career, Caldwell played collegiately at Brigham Young University and professionally in the Frontier and Australian Baseball Leagues.

Plumadore and Galvin were both named to the first half and post season all-star teams. Plumadore leads the Chucks with 40.2. IP and 44 strikeouts. He has a 4-2 record and a 3.10 ERA. He has helped the Chucks stay one of the best pitching staffs in the NWL. The Chucks arms rank second with 625 strikeouts, and third with a team ERA of 4.24.

Galvin earned All-Star Game MVP for his performance in Mankato and now finds himself a two time NWL All-Star. Since the All-Star break, Galvin has added to his dominance and climbed the league standings. In the NWL, he ranks second with 70 RBI, second with 13 HR, third in hits with 83, and is eighth in batting average at .346. His 70 RBI and 59 runs scored is most by any Woodchuck in a single season in franchise history.
