Wausau, WIS – The Woodchucks bounced back with their first win of the season fueled by their pitching which was locked in all night long! Woodchucks Starter Alec Abdalah pitched a beauty tossing six scoreless innings with seven strikeouts. It was then on to the relief tandem of Frank Frate and Jake Gross who did the job holding the lead. The fan favorite lefty hurler Lenny Gwizdala came in for the save and shut the door with three straight punch outs.

 

Wausau native Payton Nelson had a great night offensively with two hits and two RBI’S to fuel the team. The Chucks also played a very clean game on defense with no errors committed.

The Woodchucks are back in action on Thursday, May 31st, 2018 as they host the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters for the first time this season with the first pitch starting at 6:35 PM
