John White – Umpire Supervisor
Prior to being named as a Northwoods League Umpire Supervisor, White worked in baseball operations in Minor League Baseball from 2002-2016. After his career in Minor League Baseball, he attended and graduated from the Minor League Baseball Umpire Training Academy.
White worked for various organizations in professional baseball in the Northwest League, South Atlantic League, California League, Texas League, Golden Baseball League, Arizona Fall League, Southern League, and Pacific Coast League.
White’s accolades while in college baseball after graduating from the Minor League Baseball Umpire Training Academy include NCAA Division II Postseason, multiple conference tournaments, and the 2018 Summer Collegiate World Series while in the Northwoods League. He also umpires on staff across several NCAA Division I Conferences, and has umpired in the American Association (MLB Partner League), and Minor League Baseball as a Fill-In.

Winston Wood – Umpire Supervisor
Winston Wood has been a Northwoods League Umpire Supervisor since 2001. He is responsible for umpire administration and on-field discipline. It is his second stint in the Northwoods League. Winston served as General Manager for the Rochester Honkers for three seasons, beginning with their inaugural season in 1994. After graduating with a BA in Psychology and a Minor in Athletic Coaching from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1990, Winston began his career in baseball administration in 1991 as Director of Stadium Operations for the Bakersfield Dodgers of the Class A California League. He then served as an Account Executive for the San Jose Giants (California League) in 1992 and as Assistant General Manager for the Northern League’s Sioux Falls Canaries in 1993.
Winston left the Honkers after the 1996 season to earn his MBA from Santa Clara University. After graduating in 1998, he spent nearly 10 years in Credit Risk and Finance with HSBC. He currently works for Target headquarters in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul. |
