Battle Creek, Mich.—The Bombers went for the sweep of the Green Bay Bullfrogs this evening, and in doing so hoped to start a winning streak. It went down to the wire, but they did just that.

Dillion Engle (College of Lake County) got his second start of the year for the Bombers and he did not disappoint. He went six strong innings and gave up just one run to a Bullfrogs team that came into Battle Creek red hot on a five game winning streak.

“I’m going to give all the credit to Murph, he’s really helped me out this last week and tonight was the result” said Engle following the game.

The Bullfrogs got on the board first, in the top of the fourth, a two-out walk was driven in by a triple off of the bat of Ivan Vieitez.

The Bombers left the bases loaded in the bottom of the fifth but went right back to work and plated a run in the sixth when Sebastian Diaz (Univ. of Miami) squared up a pitch and sent it flying into right-center field. Cody Kuzinczci (Northern Kentucky) scored all the way from first to even the game at one.

“It felt great to be able to hit the ball hard today” commented Diaz after another great day at the plate for the Hurricane.

Garrett Anderson (St. Cloud State) got his first appearance of the year with the Bombers and saw the Bullfrogs sneak one past the Bombers defense to take the lead 2-1 in the top of the eighth.

In the bottom half of the eighth the Bombers took what was theirs. The Bombsquad tied up the game on a sacrifice bunt by Brendan Collins (Columbus State) where he reached safely on an error. Anthony Cheky (Michigan State) snuck a high chopper up the middle that scored two runs and put the Bombers up 4-2.

The Bullfrogs would not go down without a fight, however. They were able to get one in the 9^th but that would be it. Collins gunned down the potential tying run from left at the plate on and displayed his terrific arm in the process.

The Bombers went on to win 4-3, sweeping the Bullfrogs. The Bombers will try to make it back-to-back sweeps tomorrow as they play a double header against the Kalamazoo Growlers.

The Growlers have had the better of the Bombers as of yet this season, but Coach Murph wants them, and everyone else to know that “the Bombers are coming!”
