Wausau, Wis. – The Battle Creek Bombers waited out the three-hour rain delay in Wausau and were victorious with three-runs in the top of the ninth to beat the Woodchucks 9-7.

Down one run heading into the ninth, Battle Creek (10-4) would face stud closer Orsen Josephona (Hillsborough CC) who came into the game leading the league in saves with five.

The Bomb squad didn’t allow that to phase them, as they would load the bases and Nick Walker (Austin Peay State University) would come through with an RBI-single to tie the game.  One batter later, Nikola Vasic (McHenry County College) would do what he does best and get hit by a pitch to drive in the go-ahead run.  A wild pitch would bring across the third run of the inning.

Battle Creek jumped off to a quick lead in the fifth, scoring five runs on four hits.  JD Mundy (Virginia Tech) continued his hot streak, knocking a two-run home run, his third consecutive game with a long ball.  Mundy would finish the game 2-5, as he now has five home runs over the last three games.

Tom Stoffel (Virginia Tech) recorded his fifth multi-hit game, as he went 2-4 with an RBI.  Alex Howard (Arkansas State University) went 1-4 with a sac fly RBI.  Walker would end the game leading the team in hits as he went 4-5, his first multi-hit game of the season.

Christian Griffin (West Alabama) got the start for BC, as he lasted 4.2 innings allowing three runs on two hits and struck out six in a no-decision effort.  Zach Helsel (Miami Dade) would pick up the win out of the bullpen, as Colton Bradley (Central Michigan) recorded his first save of the season.

The Bombers will continue their four game road trip as they head to Kenosha.  Game one against the Kingfish starts tonight at 7:05 CT, tune in to the pregame show on the Bombers Radio Network with Jake Hromada and Neil Doyle at 6:55 p.m. CT.
