Thursday’s Northwoods League slate featured 9 games. The Great Plains East #4 Rochester Honkers used a monster second inning scoring eight runs to dominate the Great Plains West #4 Minot Hot Tots 24-3.

Traverse City 10, Battle Creek 4

The Traverse City Pit Spitters came out hot scoring five runs in the first to defeat the Battle Creek Battle Jacks 10-4. Carter Hain (Oakland University) went 1-for-3 with a double and three RBI. Brady Gavula (Clarion University of Pennslyvania) was perfect at the plate going 4-for-4 scoring once with one RBI and two stolen bases. Aaron Piasecki (Central Michigan University) went 1-for-3 scoring twice with a triple and one RBI. Ethan Guerra (University of Arizona) went 2-for-5 scoring once with a pair of doubles and one RBI. Grant Garman (Oakland University) earned the win throwing six scoreless innings with four strikeouts allowing three hits.

Kenosha 4, Kokomo 1

The Kenosha Kingfish take down the Kokomo Jackrabbits 4-1 in tonight’s matchup. Sebastian Mueller (Quinnipiac University) went 2-for-5 with one RBI. Nate Mieszkowski (Missouri Southern State University) went 1-for-5 scoring twice with a double. Jack Anderson (Case Western Reserve University) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run. Eric Orloff (University of Arizona) earned the win throwing six scoreless innings with nine strikeouts allowing four hits and three walks. 

Royal Oak 9, Rockford 3

The Royal Oak Leprechauns scored six runs in the fourth to beat the Rockford Rivets 9-3. Brayden Dowd (University of Southern California) went 1-for-4 scoring once with three RBI. Tony Hatzigeorgiou (Wayne State University) went 1-for-4 scoring once with a double and one RBI. Saborn Campbell (Stanford University) went 1-for-4 scoring twice with two RBI. Maddox Mihalakis (University of Arizona) went 1-for-2 with a solo home run. Joe Turner (University of South Carolina – Beaufort) earned the win throwing three innings with two strikeouts allowing eight walks, two runs, and zero hits.

Rochester 24, Minot 3

The Rochester Honkers used a monster second inning scoring eight runs to dominate the Minot Hot Tots 24-3. Paul Schoenfeld (Colorado Mesa University) had a day at the plate going 5-for-7 scoring five times with a two-run home run, a solo home run, and a pair of RBI doubles. Reiss Calvin (Univeristy of California Santa Barbara) went 2-for-6 scoring twice with a grand slam. Luca Dipaolo (Gonzaga) went 6-for-7 scoring five times with a solo home run, a two-run double, and an RBI single. Brendan O’Sullivan (University of Nevada Las Vegas) went 1-for-6 scoring three times with a two-run home run. Blake Penso (University of California Irvine) went 2-for-5 scoring once with a solo home run and a double. Matthew Lighthall (South Mountain Community College) earned the win throwing seven innings with five strikeouts allowing five hits, two runs, and two walks.

Thunder Bay 4, Wausau 1

The Thunder Bay Border Cats collect ten hits in their 4-1 victory over the Wausau Woodchucks. Sam Stem (Gonzaga University (WA)) went 3-for-5 scoring once with one RBI. Mike Maanum (Upper Iowa University) went 1-for-4 scoring once with one RBI. Max Galvin (Oklahoma State University) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run. Trent Jordan (Arkansas State University-Mountain Home) earned the win throwing 6.2 scoreless innings with four strikeouts allowing three walks and two hits

Eau Claire 8, Duluth 6

The Eau Claire Express scored four runs in the sixth to take down the Duluth Huskies 8-6. Brady Reynolds (Stanford University) went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI. Colton Wemhoff (University of Kansas) went 1-for-3 scoring once with a double and two RBI. Brigs Richartz (University of St. Thomas) went 2-for-3 scoring twice with a double, one stolen base, and one RBI. Cal Elvis (Kansas) went 1-for-3 scoring twice with a solo home run. Jayden Duplantier (University of Texas at Austin) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Josh Duarte (Georgetown College) went 2-for-4 scoring once with a double and one RBI. Logan Jones (University of Toledo) earned the win throwing six innings with nine strikeouts allowing six hits, five runs, and one walk.

Waterloo 3, La Crosse 2

The Waterloo Bucks take the lead in the seventh and defeat the La Crosse Loggers 3-2. Lucas Moore (University of Louisville) went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Ricky Requejo (University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma) was perfect at the plate going 3-for-3 and scoring once. Elijah Ickes (University of Hawaii) went 1-for-3 scoring once with a double. Braden Gluth (Creighton University) earned the win throwing three scoreless innings with two strikeouts allowing two walks.

Willmar 10, Badlands 3

The Willmar Stingers score five runs in the seventh to extend the lead and take down the Badlands Big Sticks 10-3. Andrew Sojka (California State University Northridge) went 2-for-3 scoring three times with two RBI and one stolen base. Max Buettenback (University of Nebraska) went 2-for-5 scoring once with a double and three RBI. Brayden Hellum (Kirkwood Community College) went 1-for-4 scoring once with a double and one RBI. Gabe D’Arcy (University of San Diego) went 2-for-3 with one RBI and two stolen bases. Kaden Carpenter (University of Utah) went 1-for-5 scoring once with a double and one RBI. Hunter Possehl (Florida Gulf Coast University) earned the win throwing five scoreless innings with three strikeouts allowing three hits and two walks.

Mankato 3, St. Cloud 2

The Mankato MoonDogs pulled through with the win beating the St. Cloud Rox 3-2. Taylor Steig (Olivet Nazarene University) went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Cooper Neville (Grand Canyon University) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Nico Libed (University of San Diego) went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Sawyer Smith (University of Kansas) went 2-for-4 with one RBI. Joe Skapinetz (Lafayette College) earned the win throwing 4.1 innings with four strikeouts allowing four hits, three walks, and one run.
