DICKINSON, ND- The Badlands Big Sticks and presenting sponsor, Farmers Union Insurance, have released the schedule for the 2024 season, their seventh as an organization and their first as members of the Northwoods League.
The Big Sticks season opens at Dakota Community Bank & Trust Ballpark on Monday, May 27th for a two-game series against the Duluth Huskies. Badlands will play a total of 70 games (36 home, 34 away) with a total of 24 games being against new in-state rivals, the Bismarck Larks (6 home, 6 away) and Minot Hot Tots (6 home, 6 away).
First pitch for all home games will be at 6:35 PM, with the exception of Sunday games at 4:35 PM and game times for the July 10th doubleheader against Mankato are 10:05 AM and 6:35 PM.
The Big Sticks will compete in the Northwoods League Great Plains West Division against the Bismarck Larks, Minot Hot Tots, Mankato MoonDogs, St. Cloud Rox and the Willmar Stingers. Badlands will also play out of division games against the Eau Claire Express, Duluth Huskies and the Minnesota Mud Puppies. The Northwoods League is comprised of 26 total teams throughout the Midwest.
Badlands home game breakdown this simmer will consist of five Monday games, five Tuesday games, six Wednesday games, five Thursday games, four Friday games, five Saturday games and five Sunday games.
Their inaugural season in the Northwoods League will run through August 10th, with the final game in Dickinson being Thursday, August 8th against the Minot Hot Tots. Postseason play will begin immediately following the season on August 11th, with a best of three Great Plains West Division series followed by a one game Great Plains Divisional Series (East Winner vs West Winner). The single-game Northwoods League World Series (Great Plains Division Winner vs Great Lakes Division Winner) scheduled for August 15th.
