DICKINSON, ND – The Badlands Big Sticks announced today that they have signed right-handed pitcher Mitchell Mussler for the 2024 season.
Mussler, a senior, attends Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University located in Prescott, Arizona. Since the 2022 season, he has appeared in 28 games (27 starts) recording 15 wins and 9 losses and posting a 4.90 ERA (172.2 IP, 94 ER) with 48 walks, 120 strikeouts, and a 1.42 WHIP, while averaging 6.25 strikeouts-per-9.0 innings. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound right-hander originates from Clearwater, Florida, and majors in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Propulsion.
“What I’m looking forward to this season is facing good competition and getting as much exposure as possible to build towards my goal of making it to the Major Leagues,” Mussler responded when asked what he is most looking forward to in the upcoming Big Sticks season.
Mussler is the first Big Sticks player to be signed for the 2024 season, the team’s first competing in the Northwoods League.
