Dickinson, ND- Kaden Carpenter, Brant Kragel, and Tyler Tobey each crushed home runs today in the Big Sticks 13-9 win over the Hot Tots.
Kragel would start the home run fest first in the bottom of the 3rd inning. With a 2-run lead already, Kragel would hit a three run homer to center field to give us a 5 nil lead. Marcus Romero would cap the 5-run inning off with a RBI single into center. The Sticks would score next inning on a solo homer by Carpenter. Carpenter would be a double short of a cycle, going 4-5 today and earning player of the game. The team would follow up with another massive inning in the 5th. Zach Selfon would smack a triple and score 3 runs. Evan Appelwick would have an RBI ground out that would make the game 11-1.
The Sticks would let the Tots come back into the game with a 6-run inning in the top of the 8th. Alex James would walk three straight batters for the first run. Dimitrios Bourmas would walk in the next run. Tristan Moore would hit an RBI sac fly to left field and score Jack Matousek. Adam Berghult would slam a 2 RBI double and would then score unearned on a Keenan Proctor error in centerfield. Tobey would hit the last homer of the night for the Big Sticks in the bottom half of the inning and knock in 2 runs. The Tots would try and make one last run and lead the inning off with a Matousek solo homer. Even after getting multiple baserunners, they were not able to complete the come back.
The Sticks are back again home tomorrow at 6:35 when they will face off against the Bismarck Larks.
