Mankato, MN- After the game was interrupted twice for weather-related delays, the Big Sticks secure the 7-3 win against Mankato.
Action would start in the top of the 2nd inning when Tyler Tobey would have a 2-run moonshot into left field. Mankato would follow up that inning with a RBI double from Nico Libed. The Sticks would respond in the top of the third. Troy Berg would double into right and score Keenan Proctor. Carter Vrabel would hit a single in right field that would score Libed. The Sticks would not score again until the 5th when Zach Zelfon would be walked in. The fifth would also be the last inning of action from Landon Kiefer, who would have a team high of 8Ks on the night.
Scoring would not resume until the 7th inning when the MoonDogs would be walked in to tighten the game to 4-3. The Big Sticks lead would respond with a big 3-run 8th inning. Quade Peters would have an RBI double off the fence into center. Then, the new kid on the scene Adam Haber would come up big with a two RBI single into right field. The MoonDogs would be able to get a baserunner on in the 9th but could not capitalize.
The Big Sticks will be back tomorrow for their second game against Mankato at 6:35 central time.
