Mankato, MN- Big Sticks win game 1 of their double header against the MoonDogs 9-8
The MoonDog would start off hot in the first with Josh Alexander RBI single. Casey Sorg would come up to bat next and slam a two-run homer. Tyler Tobey would knock in the first run for the Sticks on a single to center field. Troy Berg would follow up with single that would score Evan Appelwick. The MoonDogs would score again in the bottom of the 4th. Alexander would hit an RBI triple and Sorg would knock him in on a groundout.
The Big Sticks would put this game out of reach with a massive 7-run 6th inning. With bases loaded, Appelwick would clear the bases with a triple into right. Troy Berg would then follow that up with a 2-run single to right. Jake Paczkowski would cap the inning off with a single into center field that would score two. The MoonDogs would score on an Ryan Ward double in the bottom of that inning. They would only score two more runs though on a Zach Crandall RBI single and a passed ball.
The Sticks were unable to finish the second game of the double header due to weather and will finish on July 9th. For now, you can see the Sticks back at home against Eau Claire at 6:35.
