Dickinson, ND- The Badlands Big Sticks lose both of their games to the Bismarck Larks in their double header today.
The first loss of 9-4 was a makeup from last Monday’s rainout. After resuming the game in the bottom of the first down 1-0, the Big Sticks would score in the bottom of the 3rd on a RBI double from Adam Haber. They would take the lead in the bottom of the 4th on a Nathan Martinez RBI single and a Zach Selfon RBI double. However, the Larks would take the lead in a big 5-run 6th inning. The highlights of the inning were a solo homer from Michael Davinni and a two-run homer from Tye Wood. The Larks would put up two more runs in the 8th and 9th innings and the Sticks would be unable to come back.
The second game went even worse for the Sticks. The Larks would put up 6-runs in the 2nd inning starting with a Jaron Cotton RBI double. Zach Daudet would score 3 on triple and Cesar Franco would cap the inning off with a RBI single. The Sticks would bounce back with a 5-run 3rd inning and bring the game to within two. Evan Appelwick would lead the scoring off with a 2 RBI double and the bottom half of the lineup would knock in 3 more. Going into the 7th inning down 10-6, the Larks would put this game out of reach for the Sticks with 5-run inning. The inning would be highlighted with another Daudet triple that would score three and a solo homer from Brady Krzciok.
The Big Sticks are looking to bounce back with their series against the St. Cloud Rox. First pitch tomorrow will be at 6:35.
